Sicily
There were small and big ones, chocolate, French cream and pistachio. We opted for the traditional ricotta. Seemed like the most appropriate initiation. |
Our American friends were shocked that we had never tasted cannoli. And so, we checked out several pasticcerie and settled on one a little off the tourist trail in Taormina. Sitting on the church steps, we held the beauty in our fingers and crunched into the pastry tube, filled with sweetened and creamy ricotta infused with lemon and sprinkled with sugar and cinnamon. We licked our fingers and felt decadent. Next time, we're not sharing! We're really in Italy now.
Mouth watering. |
